2014-2015 Campaign: Street of Dreams
Street of Dreams is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational and creative support to teen mothers in urban San Diego who are at the highest risk of going to prison due to the generational effects of drug addiction, alcoholism and poverty.
Street of Dreams is a college bridge program for kids who are wards of the court and in the Juvenile Justice System. It is student driven and provides them the capability to integrate back into society through their participation. Operational since 1998, we have partnered with the San Diego County Office of Education and San Diego City College to serve the students of the Juvenile Court and Community Schools.
Out of the 20 non-profits that applied, we narrowed it down to our top 3 which we felt Ad 2 San Diego could have the largest influence. After visiting the Lindsey School, where Street of Dreams resides, we could see the amazing impact their spoken word project has on their students. Street of Dreams has a 100% high school graduation rate and all their students are accepted into college. Their goal is for 100% of their students to graduate college.
Ad 2 San Diego is currently working with Street of Dreams to define their needs and goals. Their main goals are to raise funds through the sales of their spoken word book (a book of poems) and spoken word annual event. The money raised will help fund the school as well as helping to ensure that as many street of dreams students as possible complete college.

In 2012-13, Ad 2 San Diego selected San Diego Youth Services (SDYS), a San Diego non-profit organization whose mission is to help at-risk youth and their families become self-sufficient and reach their highest potential.
San Diego Youth Services provides intensive services to more than 13,000 children and their families each year including emergency services, safe places to live and long-term solutions for kids “on their own” by providing shelters, group homes, foster homes, community centers and transitional housing.
Ad 2 San Diego worked with SDYS to define their needs and goals. SDYS, having a very good grasp on their strengths and opportunities, along with Ad 2 San Diego professionals decided that public awareness within the San Diego community was their biggest need and opportunity. SDYS specifically wanted to educate and create awareness among the San Diego middle and upper class, as they are well known amongst those who need their services, however they do not have that same level of awareness among the most critical demographic to their fundraising.
Ad 2 San Diego marketing and design professionals worked with SDYS to define their messaging and potential methods of distribution of that message. CBS Outdoor was gracious enough to provide billboard space around San Diego at no cost! Ad 2 San Diego designers created and iterated the 2 unique billboards with the SDYS team and Ad 2 San Diego covered the printing cost of the billboards.
The billboards were posted in several locations around San Diego, creating awareness among the critical demographic by putting the billboards, with their carefully crafted messaging, along key work commute routes.
Ad 2 San Diego is honored to have worked with San Diego Youth Services to help improve community awareness. SDYS gives back so much to our community that we were happy to be able to give something back to them.
