With much mingling, laughing, and bidding, Cause Marketing Night 2011 turned out to be a great success! The event was hosted at FIDM San Diego, one of the most prestigious fashion institutes in California. Located on the third floor and right in the heart of downtown San Diego, the view from FIDM’s glass walls were breathtaking.
Everyone was given the opportunity to take a closer look at the beautiful canvases set up along the side of the room as they made their final decision on which masterpiece they wanted to take home. We were also given the pleasure of meeting the board members of My Girlfriend’s Closet as they told us about themselves and why they chose to be a part of the nonprofit organization.
Afterwards, our guest speaker Brian P. Hawkins presented a step-by-step approach for cause related marketing and included quite a bit of interesting and useful information. Did you know that it takes about 300 gallons of water to produce just one pair of jeans? Brian informed us on how Levi’s was successful with their cause related marketing on saving water with their “waterless jeans.”
The real excitement began once bidding paddles were handed out and a sense of thrill filled the room. Bidding wars went back and forth, but the night ended happily with many delighted faces and ecstatic winning bidders. To top it all off, Ad 2 San Diego was able to raise over money for My Girlfriend’s Closet! We will announce how much was raised at next month’s Board Meeting.
