In respect for Cinco de Mayo we are moving our monthly board meeting back a week. Our next meeting will by Tuesday May 12 at Cafe 976 in PB from 6-7pm. This will be our last meeting at a random location. The Ad Club is moving to a new office in Hillcrest. All future meetings will be there. As always everyone is invited to come an learn more about the working of the club.

After months of hard work, sweat, and a few tears we proudly announce the relaunch of our website, www.ad2sd.com. The new website incorporates our new logo & color scheme. It is easier to navigate, and gives us the ability to deliver timely, well-organized information to our network. It will also give us a chance to have greater interaction with our members. Over the next few weeks we will continue to improve the website; so we invite you to check back often to check our progress. The majority of the redesign was completed during our Extreme Website Makeover Day. San Diego based AliVega Productions was kind enough to produce a video of that historic day. Did you know that if you are an Ad 2 member, that you are welcome to our board/membership meeting on the first Tuesday of every month? In April, the meeting will be at the San Diego Ad Club office. The meeting starts at exactly 6, and ends at exactly 7. If you come in late you will get the dreaded awkward moment of silence. Just kidding – but try to be on time.

What goes on at a board/membership meeting? First, I start off with my President’s Report. It usually pertains our projects with AAF District 15 and the San Diego Ad Club. Next the Executive Board, consisting of Cheri Reeves (National Ad 2 Vice Chair), Jenn Baker (National Ad 2 Secretary), Jake Fields (Vice President) and Stephanie Lyndon (Secretary/Treasurer) give their state of the union addresses. From there, each Committee Chair talks about their work in the past month and their goals moving forward.

Our board/membership meetings are a fun way to learn about the club and see where you can fit in. We’re actively recruiting committee members for some really cool projects that we have coming up. To learn more, join us on Tuesday.

Last month’s Student Agency Tour ended with another great AD2SD happy hour at the Yard House. BIG thanks to MEA Digital for sponsoring the event/food and mentoring all the students who attended the tour and happy hour. The AD2SD.com Extreme Website Makeover was debuted and was absolutely hilarious, it should be posted on our website shortly, it is a must see.

We also had the opportunity to introduce students and AD2 members with some of the local agency executives and creatives in an informal (over drinks) setting to ask the good questions they really wanted answers for. Overall, it was a good time and have a great testimonial from one of the students on the tour and at the happy hour,
